A Day in Another Skin

A couple of weeks ago I challenged folks to spend a day in the skin of another culture - to abandon the comfortable for the unknown and see how it felt. I had a very tough time in almost white Asian skin even though I loved the outfit that went with it.

While not many of you tried my experiment (or at least sent in photos) there were a couple that were definitely worth sharing.

This is Electric who not only changed his race, he added a few dozen years to his avatar's life. The skin is beautifully rendered; it is one of the nicest I've seen. He tells me it comes complete with liver spots and blemishes and that he gets LOTS of compliments on it. It came with the shape included and the outfit, stick and pose were purchased separately. Sorry, no other details.

This is Benicia. She went the freebie route (much easier for the gals than the guys). She paid great attention to the hints at SLC and sat for both her hair and her kimono, and she even found the shoes from a long ago post.

Amazingly, to me at least, both Electric and Benicia report being very comfortable and happy in their new skins. Electric wears his "often" and Benicia is sticking with this look for awhile at least.

It is difficult to say how we will feel when faced with major changes. The only way to know is to try.
