I lived in Barbados (RL) for most of a year long ago and visited its Second Life namesake when I was new to our virtual world. So I thought that a walk down memory lane might be fun. Alas, the Caribbean clubs have disappeared to be replaced with red tape and fake snow. St. Martin next door looked quite nice until I realized that it has all been set up with boat docks and palm trees as a sales incentive. Was there NO "Paradise" in SL?
Onward to Costa Rica which seemed quite nice. Lots of rolling beaches, private residences with no red tape. A friendly -- I hope -- pig started following me :)) HMMM.
The waves were lovely, the land masses undulating and friendly. A pair of monkeys played on a jungle gym enjoying the peaceful view and a whale ambled by. Now THIS was more like it! (The pig, upside down and looking VERY dead seemed to be attached to my foot for awhile. Bad coding? He disappeared with I TPed -- whew!)
There is a very nice Jazz Club called Frank's Place in Costa Rica -- very classy with white marble and open air pillars. A few shops greet you as well as a very tall mountain. All in all it won the Paradise contest -- for this eve anyway. Drop by some time and explore.
